Alan Duttine was born on October 21, 1945. He co-founded Airedale International Air Conditioning in 1974 and was awarded the OBE in 1997 for services to industry.

Alan was a rugby affectionado, playing for Bradford and Bingley for many years as well as a stint with Glasgow High School FP.  When not playing, he was watching and loved nothing more than a Saturday eating Midget Gems on a Six Nations Saturday.

Alan met Lynda in 1969 and they married in 1971. They have four children and five grandchildren.
